Police in Bondo, Siaya County have launched a probe into the murder of a couple on Thursday.
The two were found murdered by their children in their home in Bar Kuogo village, Bar Kowino location on Thursday evening.
Bondo sub-county Police Commander Anthony Wafula confirmed the shocking incident.
He said that the bodies of John Opiyo who is aged 60 and his wife Helida Adoyo who is 51 were found with deep cut wounds.
He on Friday said that investigations have kicked off in a bid to nab and prosecute the persons behind the murder.
Wafula also said that Opiyo was found with a knife pushed into his ear.
He added that Opiyo's body was found inside a heap of beans in one corner of the living room and that of his wife was found in the bedroom.
The police boss said that the children were returning from the grazing fields when they stumbled on the bodies of their dead parents.
The bodies of the two are being preserved at the Bondo Hospital Mortuary.
An autopsy is set to be conducted.
