Dr Ruto was unceremoniously sacked in 2011 while serving as the Minister for Higher Education during the grand coalition government.

His sacking was blamed on the then Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who was his immediate boss in the party and government.

Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiang'ani had blamed Raila on Ruto's dismissal from the Cabinet in Thursday's criticism against the ODM leader.

"Outside Luhyialand there are many more casualties n victims of RAO's deceit. Maybe you don't know somebody called Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. Raila sacked William Ruto too. A deal with Raila is always about Raila. The rest is trash. One day you will thank me for this naked truth," he had claimed.

In response, the  Narc Kenya leader said Dr Ruto was dismissed due to integrity issues in compliance with the Constitution.

Ruto had been facing probe over the loss of money meant for the purchase of fertilizers at that time.

"Sacking @WilliamsRuto Was sanction [ed] by parliament after the promulgation of our 2010 constitution to comply with chapter six," Karua tweeted.

After leaving government, Ruto would team up with President Uhuru Kenyatta to form government in 2013 to date.
