Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani has been appointed the CS of National Treasury and Planning by President Uhuru Kenyatta in an acting capacity
The former Marsabit Governor will now hold two positions in the government until President Uhuru names a permanent replacement.
His Wednesday appointment comes days after former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich was arraigned in court over the Sh63 billion Arror and Kimwarerr dams scandal.
He was released on Sh15 million bond.
Yattani's appointment has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans online, some arguing that he too, is culpable of graft during his tenure as Marsabit Governor.
Others, nonetheless, care less about his appointment noting that what they are concerned about is continuity of work at the Treasury ministry.
