Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday night condemned the attack on the offices of Thirdway Alliance in Lavington, Nairobi.
Six armed men invaded the party offices on Thursday night and shot at the Secretary-General of the party.
Luckily he managed to escape into hiding during the shooting. Miguna took to Twitter where he condemned the act, terming it cowardly and barbaric.
"We condemn, unreservedly, this cowardly, barbaric and violent criminal attack on the @Thirdwaykenya offices and on @fokango. It shows that the merchants of impunity in Kenya are scared and cornered. It should give patriots more determination and courage. Viva! #DespotsMustFall," Miguna tweeted.
The attack came hours after The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) confirmed Thirdway Alliance party's victory in the push to introduce a referendum and reduce the number of political offices in the country.
Miguna had also at that time congratulated the former Presidential candidate and party leader Ekuru Aukot on the achievement.
"I congratulate @EAukot and the #PunguzaMizigoBill2019 team for strictly complying with the constitutional requirements with respect to their referendum agenda. Their endeavour strengthens the rule of law and indicts the unconstitutional #Handcheque initiative. #DespotsMustFall," Miguna stated earlier on during the day.
The suspects are still at large.
