Raila and Uhuru have declared their support for the initiative, which they co-founded in 2018, while Ruto appears opposed to the entire issue, judging by declarations from his allies.

Political analyst Herman Manyora now says that the three leaders should come together and agree on the issue, warning that a confrontation might land the nation in trouble in the future.

"Am urging the three leaders to find a way of working together. Am urging the three men in whose the future of our children squarely lies to think about tomorrow and prosperity," he said in a recorded analysis uploaded on Saturday. (from minute 11:37)

He noted that the nation is likely to face some sort of unrest in the 2022 polls should the Raila-Uhuru joint force crush Ruto in the BBI argument, should the BBI taskforce propose a referendum.

According to the University of Nairobi professor, whatever happens, there is a need for Raila and Uhuru to avoid humiliating Ruto in the referendum poll, should it get to that.

"When you vanquish Ruto during the referendum you will get to some small problems; the country could get into some problems," he added.

Already, there exists a faceoff between forces allied to both sides, ahead of the launch of the BBI report which is set for Tuesday.
