A graft case against former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, former Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge and others has been postponed.
Trial Magistrate Douglas Ogoti on Thursday adjourned the case to September 18, after the defense counsel raised a number of issues regarding the evidence provided before court.
The magistrate directed the prosecution team to have a conference and deliberate on the issues raised by the defense team, adding that he will convene a seating on September, 18 to confirm the same.
The directive was issued after the defense team led by lawyers; Andrew Wandabwa, Katwa Kigen, Philip Nyachoti, Philip Murgor, and Kioko Kilukumi said the evidence presented before themm has not be properly classified making it difficult for them to understand.
The team argued that the prosecution team needs to classify the evidence based on individual persons as different attorneys represented different clients.
“It’s the prosecution’s case which they must facilitate the accused persons with all materials and evidence is relying on during the trial,” the lawyers said as quoted by Capital FM.
