The man who was not immediately identified had arrived home from Thika and hanged himself using a bed sheet.

Masinga sub-county Police Commander Francis Siror confirmed the sad incident.

He told journalists on Wednesday that the body of the man was found dangling from the roof by his family.

"He has been working in Thika so yesternight he came back home went direct to his house, lit the lamp, took a bed sheet and hanged himself," said Siror.

Siror said that reasons as to why the man decided to end his life have not been established and he left no suicide note behind.

He observed that cases of suicide are increasing in Masinga urging residents to speak out about what's troubling them.

"Cases of people taking their lives are increasing daily and people need to be sensitized that suicide is not the end. Approach family, friends or even religious leaders everyone has problems but we ought to be strong and push on," he said.

The body of the man was taken to Matuu Mediance mortuary.
