The DP has been under pressure to leave the government over claims of undermining and contradicting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

His critics have accused him of contradicting Uhuru's calls against early 2022 politics by failing to prevent his allies from engaging in the same.

Speaking on Wednesday, the MP said that there is a ready replacement for the DP in the instance that he decides to make the move.

"If William Ruto chooses to bolt out, we have a ready replacement for him," said the Kenya African National Union (KANU) party member.

He made the remarks on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night, where he said that the replacement would be KANU boss and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

Moi, son to former President Daniel Moi has for long been involved in a power tussle with the DP in the Rift Valley region, with Kamket now terming him the natural replacement for Ruto.

"Mheshimiwa Gideon Moi is a natural replacement for William Ruto," added the parliamentarian, one of the leading critics of the DP in Rift Valley region.

The two leaders have not been seeing eye to eye politically, with Ruto's allies even accusing Moi of blocking the DP's meeting with his (Gideon) father and former President Daniel Moi mid last year.
