Police in Migori county have launched a manhunt for a house help accused of poisoning four people, among them three babies.
The accused, whose name is concealed, allegedly poisoned the group on Tuesday night, an ordeal that left one of the babies dead.
The other two who are her employer's children are recuperating at the St Joseph Omboo Mission Hospital alongside another hose help named Linda Endekwa.
The dead baby belonged to Mrs Endekwa who had arrived to take over the shift from her.
Confirming the incident, Migori County police commander Joseph Nthenge said the accused fled the scene after committing the heinous act.
”The other two children belonging to the suspect’s boss survived though still recuperating," he said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Reports indicate that the survivors are aged 2 and 4 years respectively.
According to Bertha Oluoch, the mother of the two hospitalised kids, her children showed signs of being poisoned, observations that were confirmed by medics at the hospital.
She said they had “developed complications after eating the evening meal which was prepared by the first maid who left hurriedly."
The police are currently looking for the accused with the intention of subjecting her to the law.
