Speaking during the demonstrations, the locals said despite raising the issue to both the County and National government, the road is now impassable due to the ongoing rainy season.

"As Kipkaren residents, we are not happy with the two governments since we have presented our problems to them but in vain only giving us false promises. why are they ignoring us yet we are suffering? Look at the road now, it's like a farm waiting to be planted," said Onesmus Opande, a resident.

The resident condemned the local leadership for ignoring them despite some of them using the road frequently.

Alex Omondi, a bodaboda rider said he is forced to replace his tyre after one month due to the poor state of the road.

He further said several customers have been hospitalized after they fell down from motorcycles due to many potholes and the road being slippery especially during the rainy season.

Despite the road being under the National  Government, the locals called on Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago to come to their rescue and make it passable.

They also wondered why roads from other wards were being tarmacked while theirs which is only two kilometres has been ignored.
