President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday declared that the government will implement reforms that will curb any malpractices during national examinations.
Speaking at State House in Nakuru where he had hosted the 93rd Kenya Music Festival Winners’ State Concert, the president said that his administration will do even more to ensure integrity and honesty during exams.
“I wish to reassure all of you that my government's commitment continues in terms of upholding the values of fairness, integrity and quality in our examinations. That drive is stronger than ever,” he said.
He assured this years' candidates that the examination process will be fair and secure, as measures will be put in place to curb any cheating or any other examination malpractice.
Back to music, the President noted that it fosters unity among regions and also explores different diversities of the nations.
Uhuru acknowledged that an annual music festival is an important event as it brings out the different cultural diversities that make the nation unique and strong.
He further sends a message to organizers of the festival to welcome other East African Community member states to the festival, pointing out that Ugandan schools are doing great work in the festival.
“I would like to see all East African countries take part in this festival to make it a truly East African festival," he said.
The President was accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, the Chairman of the Kenya Music Festival Peter Wanjohi among other leaders.
