Siaya Senator James Orengo has predicted a constitutional review next year, saying that the country is ripe for the same.
This comes amid a heating debate about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, which proposes a number of constitutional changes for a better and more united country.
Orengo says that there is nothing wrong with Kenyans going back to the drawing board and taking a look into their current constitution, which began being implemented in 2010.
Speaking on Wednesday, during a Christmas service at the Nyamira ACK Church in Bondo, Siaya county, he said that Kenyans will not be doing anything abnormal.
He stated that such is necessary to ensure that citizens get only the best in terms of service delivery.
"Constitutions are reviewed constantly across the world to enable the countries better serve the citizens to achieve their desires," said the outspoken legislator as quoted by Daily Nation.
He also heaped praise on the BBI push, under which the BBI task force that compiled the BBI report was established, saying that it was established to solve the nation's problems.
Orengo stressed on the need for the country to use the push to overcome among others, recurrent political wrangles, saying that political posturing should be avoided.
"BBI was meant to reconcile the country and we shouldn't encourage political posturing about it," added the leader, a member of the side pushing for a review of the BBI report.
He spoke in the presence of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who had also been pushing for changes after founding the BBI push alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta last year.
