Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has urged all businessmen in Eldoret town and its environs to install CCTV cameras in their business premises.
This, he says this will enhance security and in case of theft, those involved can be tracked and traced easily.
"In the recent past cases of car theft and thieves breaking into shops has been on the rise but through using CCTV cameras such cases will be a thing of the past," said the Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor.
Speaking to the press on Thursday Chemno said this will largely reduce the cases of insecurity in the county that has recently been witnessed in the County.
"They will also help in crime deterrence as well as relaying of suspected incidences of insecurity to the concerned authorities for the quick response," he added.
Chemno, however, called on residents to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative by knowing their neighbours and reporting to the nearest police station those they suspect to be criminals.
He further called on residents to be their brother's keeper during this festive season by sharing the little they have with the less fortunate in the society.
Chemno says this will make them feel part of society.
