Migori Governor Okoth Obado has said that he is fully behind the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
Speaking at Rinya village in Uriri Sub-county Migori on Friday during the burial of Bishop Joseph Ogutu of St John Everlasting Church, Obado said that the handshake between the two leaders has changed many things in this nation.
The second term county boss said that he is ready to stand with Raila and Uhuru as they seek to achieve the Big Four Agenda before 2022.
“I really want to support you Raila because your programmes through the handshake including the ongoing revival of Kisumu port will uplift our people's living standards,” said Obado, as quoted by Standard.
Obado called on Raila to ensure that the Kisumu port revival is extended to Muhuru and Sori.
He said that the project will change the lives of the residents by easing transportation across different towns upon completion.
The governor further urged the residents to back government projects for the sake of economic growth of the region in the remaining period of the Jubilee regime.
“We also have hope as Migori people that Sori and Mihuru ports will be revived so that we will have time to travel through the lake,” Obado added.
