Below are some reasons why you shouldn't be on your phone every time.

1. Makes you sleep worse

Phone users who spend more than twenty minutes on their phones at a time suffer from poor and short sleep duration. Those who have their mobile phones in the bedroom tend to experience delayed sleep than those who don't. The brightness of your phone backlight delays the release of the hormone melatonin, keeping you awake for longer periods.

 2. Reduces memory

Phone notifications and messages keep you updated but they also distract you from achieving planned tasks like studying. A student studying with their phone right beside them will be distracted by the minute. There are also reports that a reduction in memory may be due to the waves discharged by mobile phones.

3. Warps view on reality

Social media is an escape from reality. It displays a tinted picture of reality. Everyone on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter seems to be enjoying life to their fullest. When we compare ourselves to them, we tend to encourage stress to build up. This is never healthy. When you compare your life to false realities you put pressure on yourself making you have the fear of failing to be like them. You should not allow social media to influence you, put your phone away as it might lead to a tinted view of reality.
