Social media users in the country have taken to Twitter to appreciate Eliud Kipchoge for uniting Kenyans.

Eliud Kipchoge flew the Kenyan flag high as he made history by finishing a full marathon in less than two hours. Kipchoge began the marathon on Saturday morning as the whole world watched him make history in an effort to prove that no human being is limited.

The Kenyan netizens prided themselves in Eliud Kipchoge as they credited him for creating national unity. Some of the Kenyans on Twitter, famously known as KOT, have even changed their usernames in support of Kipchoge. 

Kenya's biggest telecommunication company Safaricom also changed its M-Pesa logo as a sign of supporting the athlete in the historic event. 

A section of the netizens pointed out that it is only through such national unity that vices such as corruption can be eliminated in the country. According to the social media users, Kenyans have united behind Kipchoge regardless of their tribe, religion and political ideologies. 

Some of the netizens criticised politicians who were trying to be associated with the athlete during this historic time arguing that Eliud Kipchoge's achievement in uniting Kenyans should not be politicised.
