Speaking to Hivisasa on Monday at Egetonto stage, the operators' chairman Jeremiah Oino said the county revenue officials charge them in excess.

"We cannot accept this at all. You find they want us to pay even the days one was sick. How can one pay tax yet he was not at work? They have been forcing us and we can't swallow this anymore," said Oino.

He insisted that they will not remit their taxes until the County Revenue Office addresses their concerns.

"We have suspended tax from bodaboda operators until the revenue office explains to us why they are stealing from poor citizens. We are not going back," Oino noted.

Senderi Ondari, a rider, on his part said the county and the area MP Alfa Miruka have failed to address the poor state of roads in the area.

"We have suffered. Our roads are impassable. Before they mistreat us let them make our environment favourable. We also ask the County Government and area Member of Parliament to address this issue with immediate effect," protested Ondari.

Our efforts to reach the County Executive for Finance Moses Onderi over the operators' claims against the revenue officers did not bear fruits as our calls went unanswered.
