Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has spoken out after being confronted by a parent during a security tour of Kiambu county.
Speaking to members of the press, the tough-talking CS said that being confronted by the unidentified parent made him feel like a failure.
"And I am not going to face another situation like the one I faced... How do you feel when a parent confronts you like the one who confronted me at that market place, you feel like a failure, " Dr Fred Matiang'i said.
The Interior CS is in the county of Kiambu to assess the security situation in the wake of attacks on residents by marauding gangs said to be financed by shady individuals in the county.
He assured the residents that the insecurity in the county would be dealt with as a matter of urgency as he warned politicians fanning the attacks in a bid to bolster their prospects.
Residents have been complaining about widespread insecurity, calling on the government to intervene.
There have been fears that the Mungiki gang is trying to revive itself ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Matiang'i warned members of the gangs operating in the county that they would not be allowed to operate freely in the area, promising to deal with them them with the single-mindedness of late former Interior CS John MIchuki.
