The two leaders were among invited guests at the wedding of Dr Njeri Ndung'u, a daughter to Governor Ferdinand Waititu at PCEA Runda.

After the wedding, the two were seen taking photos and smiling together at Windsor Hotel reception. Ms Chege was among proponents of Tanga Tanga team.

In June this year, Chege was captured weeping after she was allegedly booed by supposed supporters of DP William Ruto at Kenol.

She had invited over 25 women MPs at the event who are allied to Embrace team, which is associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta and former PM Raila Odinga.

“Do you love Uhuru or not? Do you want to embarrass him? Are you ready to support him to the end of his term? That is where I am unapologetically,” she told the crowd.

But a day later, Ms Chege dismissed claims that she was heckled, arguing that she was emotional due to the love bestowed upon her by the president.

“I dare anyone with a video clip of me being booed to produce it. I was never heckled; I was only overwhelmed by the love that the President has for the great county. Receiving vaccination machines worth Sh36 million and cheques for women and youth worth Sh25 million is not a simple joke.

"I was overcome by the love and cried upon realising that there are people who just want to rubbish the development agenda in the county and in the region,” she said.

Although Saturday's reunion may not communicate any political message, Dr Ruto is keen to inherit Mt Kenya voting block from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
