The Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi on Monday addressed allegations that he had been kicked out of the State House.
Speaking during a discussion on Fake News on NTV's Press Pass show, Itumbi labelled the reports that had highlighted the allegations as fake.
He confirmed that he still works for the presidency at the State House. He also hinted on a possible legal action being taken against the media houses who published the claims.
"When they wrote these stories, they clearly said we had been kicked out of State House. The truth is, and today NTV itself admits on their title that we sit and work for the presidency at State House. That's number one, number two, fortunately, by tomorrow both of these, the people at the Standard and the people at Nation will have letters from their lawyers asking them to go to court and defend their position on that particular claim because it is an outright lie," Itumbi explained.
He further noted that no one had inquired from the State House about the credibility of the claims.
"But you see, even in that case, nobody bothered to lift a call ask the Public Service Commission, ask State House controller or even ask me or even ask Kanze Dena whether we still work at the State House," Itumbi stated.
Dennis Itumbi has in the recent days raised concern over fake news in the country.
