Wambui was named the Chairperson of the National Employment Authority in a gazette notice dated October 14, 2019, by Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani.

The lawmaker has, however, said that she doesn’t deserve the position because he is not educated. He said that the former lawmaker has been in parliament for decades, adding that Uhuru has denied the youth of this nation the chance to lead by recycling old guards into government positions.

“Mary Wambui was working at KANU office before I begun school. That she is old, didn’t go to school & isn’t known for any business employing people are self-evident truths. To make her Chair of National Employment Authority in digital age, Jubilee must be trying Dark Humour,” he tweeted.

Uhuru  also gave state job to the  Edwin Abonyo, widower to former Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso. Abonyo was appointed a member of the State Corporations Advisory Committee.Other appointments include; Jeremiah Matagaro who was appointed Chairperson of the State Corporations Advisory Committee and Wanjiku Wakogi who was appointed the secretary of the same committee.
