Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi has been the latest politician to weigh in on Chief Justice David Maraga's Monday complains about alleged humiliation by the executive.
In a televised address to the country, the CJ claimed that he is being subjected to humiliation, including having to wait longer than junior state officers to access state functions.
Wanyonyi on Wednesday appeared to believe in Mr Maraga, saying that with a man of such level complaining, its very possible that judicial officers are having it rough.
He said that considering that Maraga leads one of the three arms of the government, for him to come out ranting, something must be very wrong.
"The Chief Justice is not just any man, he leads one arm if the government. If you see him coming out to speak, things must be very rough (Chief Justice sio mtu wa kawaida, anasimamia mkono mmoja wa serikali. Ukiona amesimama kujieleza ujue ni kubaya)," he said.
He made the remarks on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi on Wednesday night.
About the Treasury's reduction of the Judiciary allocation, he lashed out at the relevant Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani, saying that he has no right to control the allocation.
The ODM lawmaker added that if such are what awaits the nation in the future, then the Judiciary should be allowed to use its own money collected in the courtrooms.
"The courts make alot of money which is sent to the Treasury before the Judiciary gets its share. If this is the case, then the Judiciary should be allowed to use the money it makes (Mahakama inapata pesa nyingi ambazo zinatumwa Treasury ndipo wanapewa mgao wao, kama ni hivyo waachwe watumie pesa zao)," he added.
The CJ has now thretened to chose the state events he will be attending to avoid being embarrassed.
