Embattled former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjiri has responded after Uhuru Kenyatta announced the reorganization of his cabinet.
Speaking in Nairobi on Tuesday, Mwangi Kiunjuri thanked the President for giving him a position to serve his Government. He said that he is not surprised by the sacking by the President.
He argued that he is relieved of the pressure that he has gone through when he was serving in the docket, adding that he has given all he could during his tenure in office.
"The President’s decision has taken me by no surprise, I thank God, I feel relieved. I have endured lots of humiliation, only God and my family know this. I have given my best in my assignment, I leave with my head high," he said.
He also said that when God closes one door He opens another for him. The sacked CS alluded that he has started another journey after he was axed from office.
He appealed to his supporters to remain calm, adding that he has faced endless challenges since he entered into the field. Mwangi retorted that he will remain calm and composed.
Kiunjuri is a holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree from Moi University. He was first elected into parliament in 1997 after a landslide win in the Laikipia East contest.
He, however, lost the contest for the Laikipia Governorship when he decided to throw the heart into the ring in 2013. His sacking came days after he became a subject of online troll over locust capture story.
