Harambee Starlets now want to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta after emerging victors in the CECAFA women's challenge tournament that was held in Tanzania.
Speaking on Saturday during an interview on NTV, Starlets assistant coach Jackline Juma said members of the national women's side were keen on meeting the Head of State.
Juma said a meeting at State House would afford them the opportunity to fill in the president on their issues.
She confirmed that Uhuru had sent the national women's team a congratulatory message after their impeccable CECAFA campaign that ended in total victory.
"This should also reach President Uhuru, he told us something... He told us that he would support as and even sent us a congratulatory message when we arrive, we want to go to State House so that we can tell him our problems... We want him to invite us (Pia ifikie President Uhuru alituambia kitu... Alituambia atatusupport na kama alituambia atatusupport na tulikuja akatuma congratulations, sisi tunataka kuenda hapo State House enyewe kama sisi tutafika hapo tumlilie ndio asikie... Tunaka atuinvite twende tumwambie 123), "Harambee Starlets assistant coach said.
Unlike their male counterparts Harambee Stars, the Starlets have never met President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.
The male national team met the Head of State before traveling to Cairo, Egypt for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON)
