The lawmaker says that given that the report has retained the current leadership structure, it has not affected the Mt Kenya region's arithmetic.

This he based on Mt Kenya leaders' initial demand against a parliamentary system and retention of the one-man-one-vote system.

"As Mt Kenya, we have scored because we wanted the president picked by Kenyans. (Kama Mt Kenya tumescore kwa sababu tulitaka president achaguliwe na wananchi)," he said on Radio Jambo, Saturday.

Mwaura added that though he personally stands for an extension of the executive, he is of the opinion that the government head must be picked by the people.

But the at the same time, the nominated legislator pointed out that there should be a serious discussion on what the country seeks to achieve should there be changes.

According to Mwaura, an addition of executive slots should be accompanied by a clear guideline on how it will be used to settle the issue of political exclusivity.

"The question is; if we will create five additional top slots, will it help us settle the political demands of ethnic communities? (Swali ni je; kama tutaweka viti vitano vya wababe pale juu, itatusaidia kukidhi matakwa ya majamii?)," he posed.
