Siaya Senator James Orengo has named the fight against corruption as one of the things that cemented the ongoing political bromance between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
The two leaders have remained united since their March 9, 2018, truce, after which the war on graft seems to have intensified, culminating in arrests of top state officials, the latest one being Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.
Speaking on KTN's Point Blank on Wednesday night, Orengo insisted that the war on graft is one of the main reasons that drove the initially sworn political enemies into putting their heads together and entering into the truce.
"The war on corruption is one of the things that made it possible for Raila and Uhuru to have the handshake," said Orengo who doubles up as Senate Minority Leader.
He also challenged Deputy President William Ruto to join the group and actively participate in the fight against graft.
He stressed on the need for DP Ruto to lend a hand to the bodies tasked with the role of battling the menace, as is expected from him.
"The Deputy President should not be speaking from the sidelines; he should be seen to be supporting those institutions dealing with corruption," he added.
