Lewa Children's home in Uasin Gishu County ushered the new year 2020 in style after Eldoret businessman donated music instruments to them.

Eldoret based businessman Josephat Gichui who donated a drum kit and a guitar said the instruments will help in nurturing talents of the children.

“After having a deep thought, I decided to do something different that will directly touch their lives than just giving them food and clothing that is why I brought the music instruments. This is the best new year gift I could give to the children,” said Gichui.

Speaking after donating the instrument on Tuesday, the Eldoret based businessman said he will ensure that the children learn the instruments and play it on their own. 

He reiterated that once the children have mastered the instruments, they will use it to earn a living.

“I will pay the teacher who will teach the children on how to use the instruments for three months, next time when I come here I want them to be the ones playing the instruments,” added Gichui.

He called on other well-wishers to come and help the children for them to feel like part of society.

Roselyn Makokha matron of the Lewa children’s home said most of the children have musical talents and that the instruments will help them nurture their talents and in the future be people of substance.

Lucy Wamboi who wants to be aa musician in the future thanked the sponsors saying the instrument will help her sharpen her talent since she has been singing without instruments.
