Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has seemingly been disappointed by the alleged xenophobia happening in South Africa.
The youthful MP took the message to his Twitter account on Tuesday to express his disappointment after reports went around that the South Africans were allegedly looting and killing non-South Africans.
While using the hashtag #SayNoToXenophobia, the first time MP has taken the blame to hate that has manifested in the society.
''We were all humans until race disconnected us, religion separated us, politics divided us and wealth classified us. It is so scary to watch a video clip of black people burning other black people alive. We already have racism to deal with let's stop the hate!! #SayNoToXenophobia,'' tweeted Babu Owino.
South African police arrested close to 70 people yet to be interrogated after several shops, cars and buildings were torched at Johannesburg's Central Business District (CBD).
"At this stage police are still interviewing several people to establish the motive," said a statement by the provincial commissioner seen by Standard.
Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama is also among the leaders who have slammed the move adding that proper measures will be done to curb the situation.
''Received sickening and depressing news of continued burning and looting of Nigerian shops and premises in #SouthAfrica by mindless criminals with ineffective police protection. Enough is enough. We will take definitive measures,'' read Onyeama's Monday tweet.
Xenophobia in South Africa has been witnessed periodically with locals blaming immigrants for high unemployment rates experienced.
