West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio has accused Deputy President William Ruto of engaging in early campaigns.
In an interview with NTV, Poghisio said the second in command has been campaigning instead of focusing on development matters.
Poghisio further noted that the DP has shown he is not fully behind the handshake as well as the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI).
"There is only one person in this country who is campaigning, and it is William Ruto. The rest are trying to build their legacies," he said.
On the issue of BBI, Poghisio said the report will change the lives of Kenyans if adopted.
He underscored President Uhuru Kenyatta's remark that the BBI will unite Kenyans and bring to an end post-election violence in the country.
He, however, said it will not be easy to get all leaders to support the same once the report has been released.
"We all know what the BBI is about, we know the desire is for a peaceful country. The problem is can we get all leaders to support it?" he posed.
The senator raised concern over graft levels in the country, and took a swipe at governors over graft claims.
"We should ask ourselves how one can be a governor for 5 years and become a billionaire," he said.
