West Pokot Governor Professor John Krop Lonyangapuo has hit put at politicians campaigning ahead of the 2022 general elections.
The governor opined that anybody campaigning now with a view of being elected president or any other position in 2022 must be mad.
“Anybody looking for the president’s seat, even a governor’s seat when somebody is sitting on it even an MCA seat unless you are mad. Let it be declared vacant, but now we have three solid heavy years ahead. Anything can happen any minute,” the Governor told K24’s Betty Kyallo.
The governor said that such politicians should be taken to 'Mathari hospital for repair'.
“Now you find some people are trying to say that you want to be anything. I wish Mathari hospital was still the way it was those days. We would have taken some people there for repair,” said the-first-term governor.
The governor urged holders of public offices to always follow the law while using public funds as a sure way of fighting corruption, especially in counties.
“We end up forming a lot of agencies to fight the vice called corruption. Everybody is fighting corruption even the devil himself. We have regulations, the Kenyan government has regulations that must be followed,” he said.
Before being elected governor in 2017, Lonyangapuo served as the first West Pokot Senator from 2013.
