Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama on Monday visited recuperating Homa Bay counterpart Cyprian Awiti at his Nairobi home.
Nyagarama's team termed the visit 'personal' adding that the two also discussed areas of cooperation between the two counties and future areas of association.
Mr Awiti had been out of office after he started undergoing treatment following his partial blindness condition.
"It was a personal visit. The governor had not seen his colleague for a long time and felt appropriate to visit him," said his Deputy Director of Communication Kefa Miller.
"The two also discussed areas of interest that can allow the two counties mutually work together in many years to come," he said, adding that the meeting lasted for two hours.
The Nyamira county boss was accompanied by immediate former Deputy Chief of Staff Kefa Mocheche, who was tipped to be promoted before the governor counselling plans.
At home, the county boss is expected to unveil names of officials who will take over as cabinet ministers for the next two years.
Majority Leader Duke Masira on Tuesday said on phone that the assembly expects the governor to nominate individuals with reputable track records.
"We don't have control over what the governor nominates but we shall ensure the lucky ones have high integrity," said Mr Masira, who doubles as Township MCA.
