Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday hosted Deputy President William Ruto at the Mubende State Lodge.
The two leaders had a lengthy talk, where Museveni reportedly pledged to donate Sh10 million towards the construction of Ruto's Institute of African and Leadership Studies at the Makerere University.
DP Ruto had visited Uganda where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of the institute.
"Dr William Ruto is in the country to launch the William S. Ruto Institute of African Studies, whose goals among others will be; to establish an environment for flourishing study and debate on African languages, arts, philosophies, social and political systems," Museveni tweeted.
On his part, the DP urged leaders and citizens of different African States to work together and help African grow.
"Africa is not the finished article yet: not economically, not socially and not politically. The future of Africa will not be determined in our absence, let us engage and participate fully in the work of leading Africa to her rightful place of peace and prosperity," he said.
"This will require pooling together of knowledge and ideas across borders, cultures and disciplines," he added.
