Mathira Member of Parliament Gachagua Rigathi opined that the Building Bridges Initiative rallies are not necessary.
Speaking in an interview at NTV on Tuesday, Mathira MP gave an example of when people were being asked to support BBI in Kakamega, a good number of them didn't know what they were supporting.
He argued that, even though BBI was said to be about inclusivity, there was no member of the public that was given an opportunity to say anything at the rally and that clearly makes BBI rallies not to be of importance.
"The #BBI rallies are not necessary...When people were being asked support #BBI in Kakamega they didn't know what they are being to support and no member of the public was given an opportunity to say anything about it," Rigathi said
During the same interview, political analyst Joseph Simekha said that BBI is not only about the social question in the country but is a national democratic question.
He argued that, despite the fact that BBI was intended to bring change in Kenya's political system, there is still no change seen in terms of the bad manner.
"#BBI is not just about the social question in this country, it's about the national democratic question. As you can see from what is happening in the country politically we haven't changed in terms of our bad manner," Joseph Simekha said
