The former Vice President has been under siege from the three Ukambani governors; Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos), who seem out to frustrate his leadership.

But speaking on Wednesday, Kilonzo Jnr rubbished the three, noting that the union will soon disintegrate, beginning with the exit of Ngilu whom he predicted will be moving out for fear of losing her seat in the 2022 polls.

"I see Charity Ngilu retreating from that alliance as soon as possible because she wants to be elected again and she, therefore, doesn't want to oppose Kalonzo Musyoka," he said on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night.

The Senator added that the said resistance is neither here nor there, claiming that the noises emanating from the Mutua-Kibwana quarters are just to attract some attention that could land them positions after their retirement in 2022.

"They are only looking for something to do after the general elections but they will not challenge Kalonzo Musyoka in Ukambani," he noted.

This comes at a time when Mutua has even declared his presidential ambitions, a seat Kalonzo is also eyeing.
