Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha on Wednesday said that there has been an improvement in the performance of candidates in this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
Speaking during the releasing of the results, the CS further pointed out that the Ministry of Education was ready to roll out the Competence-Based Curriculum from January 13th, 2020.
CS Magoha added that cases of examination irregularities have reduced.
"We should also be proud that our children, you will see at this year they have done better than last year and like that as you go backwards. Which means we have sanitized them. The issue of exam leakage before an exam is past tense and if you took part in the process you know that we are now dealing with early exposure which we are doing very well," CS Magoha stated as shown in a video shared by Citizen TV on Twitter.
"As proof that our reforms are coming of age today, I will be releasing results that show marked improvement compared to those of the last three years," Magoha added.
He went ahead to cite that parents should be the ones to be blamed for the poor performance that students have showing.
The CS applauded the teachers for the improvement witnessed in this year's performance.
