Radio presenter cum comedian Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalang'o on Saturday paid a visit to his wife's family in the coastal region.
While reports said the comedian wedded in a private and invited-only ceremony, he refuted the claims and said he only visited his Taita woman, Amina Chao, at her home.
Jalang'o also shared key photos on his social media platforms that showed him performing 'money spraying' ritual on his wife.
"Somebody caption for me what @burale1 is thinking pale nyuma," he captioned the photo shared on Instagram.
Money spraying ritual is very common in Nigeria which plays key roles during wedding ceremonies, even though its origin is traced to Poland.
According to Wikipedia, Nigeria is the African country that embraces this culture of money spraying.
"During the first dance, and the general opening of the dance floor, relatives and well wishers will take turns approaching the bride and groom (and sometimes their mothers), and spray them with small denominations of bills and notes as they dance. The practice has become widespread across the country, but is most common among the Yoruba and Igbo, both in Nigeria and within their immigrant communities around the world. In addition to spraying, a newly married couple may also be covered in leis and other decorations made of dollar bills, pound sterling or naira notes," Wikipedia states.
The culture is used to portraying the social status of the family, appreciating the woman, and basically a show of flamboyance and affluence.
