Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider replacing National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich after he was arraigned in court over loss of funds in Arror and Kimwarer Dam Project estimated at a cost of Sh46 billion.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Kipkorir said that Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i is among the favourite candidates to take up the post. 

He also asked Uhuru to consider Trade and Industrialisation CS Peter Munya or his Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki. 

The lawyer further listed Esther Koimett, Julius Korir and Chris Kiptoo among those who can serve in the post of the Principal Secretary after Kamau Thugge was also arrested.

Rotich, Thugge and other suspects in the dam scandal have since denied the allegations levelled against them. Rotich and Thugge were set free on a Sh50 million bond with a surety of the same amount, or a cash bail of Sh15 million each after they appeared in court on Tuesday.
