Stroke is characterized by the loss of brain function arising when the blood supply to the brain is suddenly interrupted.
Stroke can be prevented by so many ways including embracing some of the foods that are significant when it comes to supplying blood.
Here are the foods
1. Avocados
Erin Holley, a registered dietitian at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center noted avocados have good cholesterol levels that decrease the risk of heart diseases. They have high significant fibres which are good for your health.
"Keeping your cholesterol levels at desirable levels is recommended to decrease your risk for heart disease. Avocados are also a high fiber containing fruit, providing 3 grams of fibre per 50 grams serving," she says.
2. Spinach
Another food that you will need to incorporate to your diets is spinach. They are packed with vitamin k, calcium and iron which are known to lower stroke
"This nutrient-rich vegetable is packed with carotenoids, vitamin K, folate, calcium, and iron. Spinach also has a high amount of fiber—2.4 grams per 100-gram serving—which is known to lower your risk for heart disease and stroke," says Holley.
3. Pumpkin seeds
They have various antioxidants which can help reduce inflammation that in turn lower stroke
"These small little seeds are chock-full of nutrition, such as protein, magnesium, potassium, and polyunsaturated fats. They naturally contain antioxidants, which can help to reduce inflammation and therefore reduce risk of stroke, heart disease, [and] cancer," says Holley.
"They're also an excellent source of fibre, which can help to balance blood sugar and reduce complications of diabetes, along with promoting gut health."
