In last week, the controversial Pastor James Maina Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism Church asked his bishops to respect his wife and his rules.
In a video that went viral, the 'man of God' wanted his bishops to think of how 'poor' and respectful they were when they joined his church.
The demand has resulted in one of the three bishops to hanging his boots.
Bishop Robert Wafula from the Coast region confirmed his resignation on Sunday, eliciting mixed reactions from Kenyans.
Bishop quit avoiding the humiliation of getting removed from the postilion.
“If he had issues with us, he should have called us for a meeting. But declaring in public that he will kick us out means he no longer wants to work with us. I would rather leave than wait for him to do what he threatened,” says Wafula as quoted by the Standard.
Bishop Robert Wafula's quit has elicited mixed Kenyans, with some saying both the bishop and Pastor Ng'ang'a are to blame. Some lauded Ng'ang'a for how he managed to transform Bishop Wafula while others said if he used a wrong approach to the demand for respect.
Those who blamed the bishop said he would have asked for dialogue together with other bishops instead of quitting.
