The County Government of Uasin Gishu sponsored 692 students to pursue Diploma and certificate different courses in different learning institutions.

Speaking during the flagging off ceremony Uasin Gishu governor said it will cost county government sh 56,491,000 to sponsor students to pursue their respective courses.

"As a county government, we have sponsored 270 students to pursue a medical course at KMTC,90 students to Egerton University to pursue Diploma and certificate courses in animal health and 30 students to pursue meat inspection,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.

He reiterated 211 students have been sponsored to pursue Livestock and Artificial Insemination courses in AHITI while 32 will pursue water engineering courses in Kenya Water Institute.

He noted that those courses to be studies are marketable and one can also employ his or herself if he lacks employment opportunities.

“Beneficiaries should put in mind that this sponsorship is not a bursary but revolving fund where at long last they will be required to pay after getting employed,” added the Jubilee vocal governor.

Governor Mandago urged students who benefited to go and exhibit good quality leadership and they should be disciplined.

He further noted that his government is keen on technical education, where students can acquire skills and knowledge that will help them earn a living.

Mandago reaffirmed that his administration will continue sponsoring students to pursue technical courses until the county has enough technicians.
