Popular comedian Vincent Muasya Mutua famously known as Chipukeezy is the latest Kenyan celebrity to cross the one million followers mark on Instagram.
The comedian who doubles up as a TV show host took to Instagram to celebrate and appreciate his followers.
“We have reached 1 million and we say thank you very much (Tumefika 1 million na tunasema ni Asante sana)...Thank you guys for following me, thank you for loving me, thank you for criticising me but most importantly, thank you for keeping it real here. Thanks a million times. I don't know if we should do a bash (sijui tufanye bash),” Chipukeezy wrote.
Chipukeezy began his career as a stand-up comedian on Churchill Show before venturing into radio and finally ended up being the host of The Chipukeezy show on Ebru TV. He is also a director on The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) board.
Currently, Lupita Nyong’o is the most followed Kenyan celebrity on Instagram with 7.9 million followers. The second most followed Kenyan celebrity is Eric Omondi who is popular for producing parody videos of celebrities and politicians.
Chipukeezy has gained popularity through standup comedy, hosting the Chipukeezy show, participating in campus tours among others.
