Parents in South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County have been encouraged to invest heavily in their children through education.
Area Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro while speaking to his employers (electorates) at Ikoba on Friday evening urged parents not to ignore educating their children.
He said future leaders will not be found if children do not get a proper education.
"As schools re-open next week Monday, 6th January 2020, I urge parents across the constituency to ensure all their children goes back to school. Every parent should invest heavily in their children through proper education," said Osoro.
The youthful legislator reiterated the need for South Mugirango children to go to school saying poverty can only be eradicated through proper education.
"As much as we want jobs for our youths, no one will give our youths jobs if they are not properly educated. Some of us underwent a lot of pain to get an education. It is my hope that parents will ensure their children are enrolled in schools within the constituency to better their lives in future," he stated.
Osoro appealed to local leaders to stop petty politics but instead lead by example.
The lawmaker assured that he will award bursary funds without favour to all learners in the constituency.
