Osoro while addressing residents of Tabaka in his constituency on Sunday said he can only back the referendum if positions are not created to absorb political losers.

The legislator said Kenyans are being burdened to pay huge taxes so that politicians can get monthly huge salaries and therefore the referendum should not subject poor Kenyans to huge taxes again.

"I will only support the referendum if political seats are reduced but not creating seats such as prime minister and deputy prime minister positions to absorb political losers," he said.

Osoro wondered why opposition leader Raila Odinga is pushing for a referendum aimed at creating positions instead of pushing for the reduction of political positions.

The youthful legislator confirmed that he will strongly oppose any referendum targeting to overburden Kenyans arguing that tribal politics should not be dragged into the calls to have the constitution amended.

"If Kenyans will go for a referendum let them go for it with an aim of benefiting but not benefiting few greedy politicians. Kenyans should reject any referendum aimed at adding political positions," he added.

Osoro is the latest leader in Deputy President William Ruto's camp to voice his opposition to the BBI.
