In an interview with Standard,  Arati asked Deputy President William Ruto to back the Building Bridges Initiative or prepare for a shocker.

He said that Imran's win is an indication that Kenyans are fully behind the handshake between ODM Leader Raila Amolo Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He said that Ruto has no choice or prepare for a resounding defeat before that time comes.

“Kenyans want to have a peaceful and prosperous country, values that are being championed through BBI which they are going to support once the report is made public, those opposed to it should know this,” said Arati.

He also launched a scathing attack at leaders from Nyamira and Kisii counties who were opposed to Imran. He noted that the leaders ashamed the community, adding that they need to reconsider their footpaths before it is too late.

He asked them not to make the same mistake during the referendum.

“Kenyans want good leaders and have decided that in future someone will not influence them to elect people whose track record is not clear in whatever leadership position in future,” said Arati.

Arati and his supporters have come under criticism by Jubilee leadership for allegedly embarrassing Kimilili MP Didmus Baraza in Kibra during the by-election.
