The county government of Nakuru has embarked on completing all health projects that had stalled in an effort to improve the health sector.
In a statement, the Nakuru county government noted that its health department has embarked on a mission to complete all stalled projects in the devolved unit.
According to the county government, the move is aimed at improving the county’s health services delivery.
In the statement, the county noted that some of the projects had stalled for over ten years, with one of such projects being unveiled on Wednesday.
"Today, the County Government of Nakuru opened such facility at Kasarani, Malewa West in Gilgil. The facility was constructed in 2010 through the Constituency Development Fund.The facility has been equipped with drugs and other non-pharmaceutical items. Nurses and support staff have been deployed," the county's statement read in part.
Nakuru County Public Health Officer, Dr Samuel King'ori said the county has set aside Sh2.2 million for renovating the hospital's staff houses and drainage system.
According to the Nakuru county government, 10 other similar projects will start functioning before the end of the year.
