The controversial politician and former boxer was elected unopposed, recapturing a seat he held between 1998 and 2001, in an election that was held in Tuesday.

In his speech after the win, the former Commonwealth Boxing Council President promised to revive the game in Kenya, basing it on his experience as a boxer.

He promised to team up with his officials, including his new Deputy Ahmed Yassin and Secretary General Franklin Imbenzi to better the game in Kenya.

"Immediately we start working with my new team, you will see the whole boxing coming to Kenya. I know the pain of being a boxer that’s why I must make sure boxers and promoters’ works together in the coming days and ensure good working relationships between the stakeholders” he said.

Hillary Alila, the outgoing chair who decided not to defend his seat enlisted infighting among stakeholders as one of the tasks awaiting him.

“There a lot of infighting among the stakeholders that slowed our work, however, at the same time we made some progress in administration structures which will make the incoming office’s work easier” he said.

Last month, Ndolo was arrested alongside six others over allegations of threatening to kill a man at Bustani Gardens along Oledume Road in Nairobi and shortly detained.
