The embattled former senior magistrate appeared in a criminal case against private investigator Jane Mugo.

Khaemba stirred controversy in July after granting embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu anticipatory bail while on leave.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raised a complaint, saying that the circumstances in which the beleaguered county boss was granted bail was questionable.

Khaemba was suspended by chief justice David Maraga following the EACC complaint.

At the time, Governor Waititu was grappling with the prospect of arrest amid a bewildering array of graft charges that he has strongly rejected.

Investigations into the graft claims continue with Governor Waititu barred from accessing his office for the duration of his case.

The former magistrate will now be working in the firm of renowned lawyer Danstun Omari, who represented embattled Meru Senator's wife in a high profile divorce case.
