Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyn Akombe has reacted to news that the National Assembly Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee is planning to dissolve Nairobi County.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Akombe weighed in on Jeremiah Kioni, the CIOC chairperson's sentiments over dissolving Nairobi County after the city governor Mike Sonko got arrested over graft charges.
''Implementation of the #BBI report begins, coercively. We are back to an imperial Executive,'' she said.
Speaking during the AM Live show on NTV on Tuesday, Mr Kioni noted that the committee has 'drafted a bill that will see all activities of Nairobi county taken up by the National Government.''
This comes after Sonko was on Friday arrested.
The city boss was denied bail by the government prosecution team noting that he will intimidate his county staff who will testify in his case.
More so, Sonko's alleged escape from Shimo La Tewa Maximum Prison has come back to haunt him, with the prosecution indicating that he has the previous sentence he has to finish.
Many people have come out to indicate that trouble looms for the city of Sonko will be charged with corruption.
This is because he has no deputy governor who could take the mantle from him.
