Malindi MP continued to express her anger over the Likoni Ferry crossing tragedy that claimed the lives of Mariam Kighendi and her daughter Amanda Mutheu.
Speaking on Friday in Murang'a during an Inua Mama event, the outspoken legislator said that women should organise to hold peaceful demonstrations to the Ferry crossing.
"I think as women we should come together and protest all the way to the ferry crossing (Na sisi kama akina mama nafikiria hio siku itabidi tushikane tarehe ishirini, tukusanyane tuandamane hadi ferry), " the visibly angryJumwa said.
She said that it was morally wrong for the country to hold national celebrations yet a lady and her child were trapped in their car under water.
Efforts to retrieve the bodies of the two victims are underway with the national government, through its spokesman Retired Colonel Cyrus Oguna calling for patience.
The somewhat sluggish pace has been blamed on a bewildering array of factors including poor visibility, the depth involved and strong currents.
Mariam Kighendi and her daughter Amanda Mutheu sunk at the Likoni Channel on Sunday evening after their car rolled back off the rear ramp of the MV Harambee Ferry.
The government has come under criticism over its apparent lack of adequate preparedness for disasters of such nature.
