Now in her second term, Wahome is one of the most vocal political voices in Mt Kenya region. Her support for Deputy President William Ruto in his quest for the presidency come the next general election can never be doubted. But now, she seems to be putting her own future in doubt.

After her hard-hitting attack on President Kenyatta, now it is her time to receive the blows with the President's allies ganging up against her.

From Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru to Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, the last few days have been tough for the Kandara MP.

The situation could get worse in the coming days and there is no guarantee that Alice Wahome will be re-elected in 2022.

President Uhuru Kenyatta remains Mt Kenya's political kingpin, at least for now. His political stand will continue influencing the region's politics for the next few years, possibly beyond 2022, depending on his own game plan after the end of his presidential term.

As the main political voice in the pro-Ruto's Tanga Tanga group, Wahome is already feeling the impact of her political stand.  What next? She either tones down her political rhetoric or be crushed, that is political.

If President Kenyatta decides to unleash his political arsenal, the Kandara legislator will be consigned into political oblivion, never to recover again.

For now, she may need to do some soul-searching, as she reflects on her recent outburst which might end up costing her political career.

Though she might have genuine grievances, she used a wrong approach to express herself.
